Central Texas

Central Texas’ Impact Community, AmeriCorps Central Texas (ACT), is a collaboration of ten local nonprofit organizations that all run AmeriCorps programs. They serve 22,000 local residents each year and offer a wide range of opportunities to create a better future through AmeriCorps service. By working together, ACT is advancing the Opportunity for All Universal National Service principle. ACT’s partners are building a more local, more diverse corps, increasing community awareness of the opportunity to serve, providing member development and support, and becoming more diverse, equitable, and inclusive organizations.

Universal National Service Principle:

Opportunity for All

"I decided to serve because I had seen what it’s like for struggling students with limited help and wanted to give back to my community." - Kimberly Whalon, 34-year old Central Texas resident, serving as a tutor with Literacy First

"The opportunity to support collective work would help multiply all of our impact. And that's what really made ACT so unique and compelling to us." - Marisol Foster, Executive Director at Webber Family Foundation
