Laura Thompson is Director of Strategic Engagement at Service Year Alliance. In this role, Laura builds and manage a network of local government leaders, service year practitioners, funders, and thought leaders in communities across the country to develop and execute plans to scale national service programs as a community development tool. Previously as Regional Field Director, Laura built and directed a grassroots national service movement across 19 states, which included organizing and mobilizing community action teams to foster policy change. Previously, Laura worked with Vital Voices, an organization that builds the capacity of women extraordinary women around the world as leaders in their communities. At Vital Voices she managed a fellowship program of 300+ women and led a research initiative to measure their global impact. Laura holds her M.A. in International Education and is fluent in Spanish.
