As Service Year's Design Manager, Laura produces creative concepts and executes them through a multitude of media platforms including digital, print, and video. She graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Advertising and spent a couple of years in the ad industry in New York City before transitioning to her passion of working to expand service.
Prior to life at Service Year, Laura held different creative and communication roles to maximize her work experience. Most recently she comes from a Senior Designer position at a creative agency where she worked on a team to produce websites, mobile apps, as well as promotional materials. She has worked with a range of nonprofits in communications and design roles in DC.
Laura is no stranger to service as a former Peace Corps volunteer in Ghana. During her 2 years abroad she taught Information Technology courses, led female youth empowerment camps and helped with coordination of the STARS program geared towards encouraging academic and community leadership for young Ghanaian students.
Laura enjoys exploring the outdoors with her rescue dog Bamboo, competing in weightlifting and is an avid scooter rider.
