Emily, Director of Policy and Advocacy, works to develop and coordinate policies that expand service year opportunities. Her congressional and political experience bring a solid understanding of ways to build support for Service Year’s policy agenda on Capitol Hill. Prior to joining our team, Emily served as Deputy Legislative Director to U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, where she helped build a domestic policy agenda focused on upward mobility and economic opportunity. Emily earned her bachelor’s degree in communications at the University of Miami, where she first entered the political arena as a member of Senator Rubio’s campaign team in 2010. In her spare time, Emily coaches springboard and platform diving for a local club team, after a long career as a diver herself. She spends most of her time out the office poolside, in the mountains hiking, or in Florida with her family, where her black lab Jetty enjoys the beach as much as she does.
