National service plays a critical role when disaster strikes. Right this moment, hundreds of AmeriCorps members are on the ground providing critical assistance in response to the hurricanes that ravaged Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. Given the scope of the damage, supplemental funding for national service is required to meet the recovery needs of local communities.
