Best Practices Competition

Our Mission

Service Year Alliance is relentlessly pursuing a bold vision — making a year of service a common expectation and opportunity for all young Americans as a way to tackle important challenges while transforming their own lives. We focus on this “double bottom line” — impact on the young person serving and on the communities in which they serve.

About the Best Practices Competition

Service Year Alliance is addressing the double bottom line by gathering, collating, and publishing best practices in the service year field so all host organizations can be more effective and successful. “Best” are those practices that produce exceptional results. Submit your program’s best practice and become eligible to win a cash prize of $2,000 and public recognition through Service Year Alliance’s website and social media channels. All viable submissions will be published on the Service Year Alliance website as examples for the field.

Benefits of Participating

  • Recognize your organization’s outstanding practices and effectiveness.
  • Develop a learning culture across the service year programs that continuously pursues better ways of making things happen
  • Lower the barrier for programs to scale by not recreating what is already existing in the service year field.
